hey bryce, sorry for the delay in keeping up with this bug. It had been fixed a while back but now has returned and the nvidia driver you had posted did not allow me to reboot with that dirver installed. The same thing is occurring but at a less intensive rate cpu usage at stand still is between 7 and 10% which in itself is unusual at least on this system... I did have karmic installed and did not test to see if it was also occurring there. I will try the driver again this time checking to see what it is going to remove first before installing it
