Likewise, my HP ProBook 4320s works fine with the older kernel but the
clickpad is broken with the 10.04.3 kernel.

I just changed GRUB_DEFAULT=2 in /etc/default/grub followed by "sudo
update-grub2" to make that kernel default (and it will more or less
"break" if a newer kernel comes out, thereby alerting me to the change
at which point I can try the new new kernel and see if the problem
persists.)
