Not sure if that is different from previous versions, but: Oneiric A3 displayed a similar "maze" as before (Lucid, Maverick), but after a while, a mouse cursor appeared and I could control it from the touchpad. Weird. I also can get into a tty, too, which I don't think was possible before. Did so from the live-cd/usb, if that matters.
