I'm very new to Ubuntu/Linux OS environment, so please, if you don't mind, walk me through your suggestion. How do i get to the kernel commandline? For your info, i'm using Gateway LT3105g & i experience the same graphical corruption others have mentioned in this thread. Thanks.
