Public bug reported:
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 dev with nvidia-current 285.05.09-0ubuntu1 and in
the start menu under Preferences there is the entry "NVIDIA X Server
Settings". nvidia-settings is not installed and clicking at the entry
does nothing. The entry should be only installed if nvidia-settings is
installed too.
