Some more information: The kernel we're running at is 2.6.31.7, but the drm stack has been upgraded to 2.6.32.24. This was done to enable widescreen display support, and also to try to solve the problem with the TV-out. That did not help. I then patched in the fix provided in comment 43, and that is where we stand currently.
