You have been subscribed to a public bug:
The interfaces crashes, activities bar disappears and in it's place a menu
appears with File - Edit and some other buttons.
I can start terminal with CTRL+ALT+T but I can't type anything because the
keyboard doesn't work.
I can't switch between windows but the borders light up when I press ALT+TAB. I
can close them with the mouse by pressing X.
The problem appears random, when I switch between windows, start a
program or access the activities menu.
To get around this without rebooting I enter the console with
CTRL+ALT+F1 and type sudo gnome-session --replace. Then I takes me back
to the login window. It kills all my programs and I lost unsaved work.
