Posted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- intel/+bug/805700,
Hi, Having similar problem on a thin client with Intel 945GSE and Atom N270 CPU. We can only get up to 1280x1024 resolution although it supports up to 1920x1200. X defaults to vesa and not intel driver. Tried pci=noacpi and other workarounds mentioned here but no luck. Confirmed it is the same problem on Ubuntu/Kubuntu, both 11.10 & 12.04 When trying to run X :0 -configure we get configuration failed (see below), X :0 -configure X.Org X Server 1.11.3 Release Date: 2011-12-16 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.24-29-server i686 Ubuntu Current Operating System: Linux c1ph-ws00 3.2.0-18-generic-pae #28-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 2 22:11:12 UTC 2012 i686 Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.2.0-18-generic-pae root=UUID=3ea42ac9-2ae9-4b55-bbdc-c44968d66907 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 Build Date: 22 February 2012 03:13:47AM xorg-server 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu4 (For technical support please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support) Current version of pixman: 0.24.4 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version.
