It could just be TV overscan. But the regression aspect is interesting. Boot a 11.10 livecd, set to not mirrored, and then collect 'xrandr --verbose' and add as an attachment to this bug report, for comparison purposes. Also grab the /var/log/Xorg.0.log and attach that as well.
