I hadn't the time to try Karmic so I ignored the automated messages. I decided to test again since I'm using kernel 2.6.30 and xserver-xorg- video-intel 2.7.1-0ubuntu1~xup~1 (from http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu ): I get no crashes, so I'd assume in Karmic it is fixed as well.
