Hi Gifford, upstream thinks this may be fixed already in the mainline kernel, by commit c501ae7f332cdaf42e31af30b72b4b66cbbb1604 which is included in v3.4-rc1.
Deb packages of the mainline kernels are available at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/. I would suggest waiting until the freeze occurs one or two more times, so you get a feel for how frequently it occurs, and if there are any things that seem to trigger it. Then, install v3.4-rc1-precise (or newer), and try to do those same things (or wait the appropriate period of time), and see if the freeze occurs again. In either case, report back here with your findings. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/976660 Title: [i965gm] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x81323232 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/976660/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
