Public bug reported:

I have my touchpad configured with tap-to-click off. Frequently when
using my thumb to press down on the pad to make the click, and then I
touch my index finger to to the touchpad intending to drag (for example
when resizing a window or extending the selected range of text) the
mouse will jump to an absolute position on the screen (moving the
selected text or window egde with it) rather and simply extending the
selection or window size.

This behavior happens about 50% of the time. I have not been able to
find a solution to it or anything to help distinguish what the
difference is between when it does happen and when it doesn't.
