I promised you that I will let you know my experience when I install a
separate graphic card.

I plugged in a ATI HD5770 PCIe card into my machine and after struggling with
the installation of the AMD drivers, I finally succeeded to install the drivers
on ubuntu 12.04 64bit kernel 3.2 as show in the following uname output:
Linux Asus 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
My setup now is Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard with I7 3770K + 16GB Ram + ATI
HD5770 GPU on Ubuntu 64

For two days now, I did not experience any system freeze ; Neither Xorg nor
complete kernel freeze.
I even enabled multi-threading in FlightGear which used to freeze the system
very quickly when HD4000 was used, but now it works fine.

I hope this comment will help those who are working on this problem.

Thanks
