I am still affected by this bug. It seems random and intermittent and boy is it annoying. Everything freezes and I have to reboot. It does seem to be less frequent since I updated my motherboard BIOS though I don't have hard evidence that this made a difference. I'd say it happens once every couple of days now and it seems to have some connection with web browsing, though again, it is not repeatable and I can't be sure that it is connected.
I also have the problem with the login manager not showing sometimes. I haven't had time to do further diagnosis, maybe next week I'll have a closer look.
