** Description changed: Whenever I try to start Clementine player, I get kicked to the login screen and need to log in again. I tried reinstalling the graphics driver which allowed me to use Clementine again, but not a second monitor. So after I fixed the settings for dual monitor, I have the old problem again and I get logged off from my session once I try to start Clementine. I have an nvidia graphics card and I have configured in xserver a twinview to use both my notebook's screen (Lenovo ThinkPad T410) and and external Acer monitor connected via vga at the same time. Graphics card is Nvidia NVS 3100m + (EDIT: problem also happens on startup of the spotify linux beta client + and with vlc media player) + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: xorg 1:7.6+12ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-26.41-generic 3.2.19 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-26-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: "" .proc.driver.nvidia.version: - NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 295.40 Thu Apr 5 21:37:00 PDT 2012 - GCC version: gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) + NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 295.40 Thu Apr 5 21:37:00 PDT 2012 + GCC version: gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) .tmp.unity.support.test.0: - + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, grid, move, resize, snap, mousepoll, commands, vpswitch, obs, imgpng, place, gnomecompat, session, regex, wall, resizeinfo, unitymtgrabhandles, animation, expo, workarounds, fade, ezoom, scale, switcher, unityshell] CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Mon Jul 9 11:02:22 2012 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, whatever it takes to get this fixed in Ubuntu GraphicsCard: - NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [NVS 3100M] [10de:0a6c] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) - Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T410 [17aa:2142] + NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [NVS 3100M] [10de:0a6c] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T410 [17aa:2142] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120328) JockeyStatus: - xorg:nvidia_current - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) - xorg:nvidia_current_updates - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (post-release updates) (Proprietary, Disabled, Not in use) + xorg:nvidia_current - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) + xorg:nvidia_current_updates - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (post-release updates) (Proprietary, Disabled, Not in use) MachineType: LENOVO 2522EM1 ProcEnviron: - PATH=(custom, no user) - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-26-generic root=UUID=749357d3-4ede-4b1b-871d-053b869b4dd2 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display Title: Xorg crash UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 02/09/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 6IET81WW (1.41 ) dmi.board.name: 2522EM1 dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6IET81WW(1.41):bd02/09/2012:svnLENOVO:pn2522EM1:pvrThinkPadT410:rvnLENOVO:rn2522EM1:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 2522EM1 dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T410 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu36 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.32-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0.2-0ubuntu3.1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 8.0.2-0ubuntu3.1 version.nvidia-graphics-drivers: nvidia-graphics-drivers N/A version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.3 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1.2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.17.0-1ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build2
