It just crashed again when running "disper -s". (I run it with a
keyboard shortcut).

I can't believe this hasn't been  given "importance critical" yet.

By the way, isn't it a deep design flaw in the very foundation of the
whole system architecture the fact that a crash of the x server implies
killing all running applications, log out the user and loose all the
current user's unsaved data????
