My ati radeon card has failed and I replaced it with the Albatron FX5600.
The monitor is the Samsung 24TA350 1920x1080 native.
I installed the driver 173 on Ubuntu 12.04.
The characters are unclear, they become thicker if I move the windows.
Also nvidia x server setting closes suddenly when I try (for example) to set
the speed of the GPU, or one of the controls at the bottom of the menu.
I can only set the contrast, brightness and colors.
The same thing happened with Ubuntu 11.10.
In windows xp the card function perfectly.
What am I doing wrong and where can I find a guide to the settings (what does
it mean, for example, or vbalk hblank)?
