OK, i know, this bug should be stopped posting to but i could kind of
workaround it:

A PC i am responsible for was crashing with 12.04 and 12.10 every hour
nearly. What solved it for me:

1) Updated to raring ringtail (upcoming 13.04), kernel 3.8.x. (Why is raring
THAT stable right now? It works really well here! But pls keep in mind its
pre-beta. Though with this crashes here, you should be good to go for an
upgrade ;-) )
2) Updated firmware on the harddrive (a SSD in my case)
3) flashed new bios (ASROCK mini itx mainboard h61m-itx)

In case you follow the steps, choose 3) 2) 1), cause updating the
frmware on the SSD might erase your data.

It was a "rage-upgrade" (PC was close to forced death), i did not have
the patience to update one-by-one to see what was the reason.

Good luck everyone, the Linux here is now rock solid again!
