Christopher, Since then i have done a clean install of newer ubuntu version and different drivers. I'm currently running 13.10 with nouveau drivers and bumblebee, on the same hardware.
I'm currently not experiencing any problems related to this bug. Since this is my workstation, I can't go and install a development release. I could see if I can install the nvidia blob in 13.10? Let me know if that's worth anything to you.
