The original issue is the network card failing to connect after a suspend resume operation, this is a bug that appeared in V11.04 was not present in previous versions.
I have noticed that when the system goes into suspend that the the CPU fan on the motherboard remains powered up for about 40 seconds before the system finally goes into full suspend.
