Volker, upstream is asking for confirmation that this is still present with the latest development drivers (which are not in Karmic). You can test by following the instructions on https://launchpad.net/~xorg- edgers/+archive/ppa . Could you check that and report it upstream? I see you haven't subscribed to the upstream bug report yet. Please do that.
