Both Gnome and Gnome-on-Xorg exhibit the same behavior when connecting a DP monitor. The HID freezes until disconnecting the DP screen.
Both Gnome and Gnome-on-Xorg work on HDMI. I left the HDMI connected when switching between Gnome and Gnome-on-Xorg. When I unplugged HDMI it crashed the Gnome-on-Xorg session.
