This gnome-shell suicide is the only explanation I can see:

Also pid 16721 is the correct session (the second last gnome-shell
instance in the log).
So we're probably looking for an Xwayland crash but I'm not seeing any
crash reports. Do you have any new files in /var/crash/ ?
