Update: After some Googling, I tried booting the Live CD with i915.modeset=0 and it booted up and installed fine. However, when I when I booted into the newly installed OS the same error persisted. Here's the weirdest part. After dutifully attempting to boot again with i915.modeset=0, this time from the hard-drive, it seemed to work. It got to the login screen, but once there the keyboard and mouse were completely unresponsive. There's not much I can think of to give debugging information, seeing as I can't log in, switch to a different terminal, or do ANYTHING. Anyway, thanks in advance for any and all help. I hope this can be resolved Soon(TM), as I'm quite excited about Karmic!
