/var/log/Xorg.0.log goes back several days prior to the problem. Processes were started on Oct 29. Note log contains frequent messages related to XINPUT as I use a KVM switch and a USB mouse and keyboard. Let me know if you need me to narrow down the log at all. Also if you need any other diagnostics.
