WeatherGod, Thanks for your quick response.
I am not using Compiz, and have now uninstalled it, and I can't yet tell if it started after a particular update. As I always use separate /home partitions for my data, it should be fairly easy to start again with a fresh install, and add the few drivers and updates, one at a time, until it breaks. I will report back when I have done that. I will start without the Nvidia driver, as it has to be one of the suspects. Also I will do it on the Gnome installation, to avoid confusion with KDE4 bugs, of which there still are more than a few. -- AMD64x2, Nvidia, Gnome and KDE, no virtual ttys, and shell in konsole or gnome terminal dies https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483832 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
