I was also asked to try if the same problems appear with Fedora 12 live cd - and they do. The mouse cursor was a weird square and exactly the same graphical problems appeared in minesweeper. I couldn't try if the graphics were missing in open office too, because Fedora 12 live cd doesn't have Open Office installed as a default.
