I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 kernel 2.6.31-19 (for about 1 hour now)
I apologize for the formatting, you guys seem to hate this.
1. After update I expected to use my system as normal
2. After updating from 2.6.31-17 to 2.6.31-19 I received notifications that the
xserver would not start. "Failed to initialize the nvidia kernel module.
Screens found but none have usable configuration".
3. I'm not sure how to make this happen again, as I don't know how to downgrade
the kernel, and have since fixed the issue.
for your information I was using nvidia driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86-190.4#-pkg#
(Not exactly sure, but it wasn't too long ago, and worked until todays update
to .31-19) After installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86-190.53-pkg1 and restarting X
everything seems to be kosher.
This very well may be my fault, as I had some display issues concerning
OpenGL and Gnome theme persistance throughout the desktop environment
and made some changes, but not any to the xorg config file. I just
wanted you guys to know that it happened.
