To StoatWblr and foxy123, Have you tried the most recent builds of Lucid Alpha 3 (daily-builds)? Desktop Live CD = http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ Alternate CD = http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ I tried the most recent live cd (32bit) and it solved my live cd booting problem above.
