Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
After I clean install of Ubuntu 9.10, the gdm login window appears. If I
try to log in with the session "GNOME", the xserver will hang shortly
after I enter my password. I am able to log in fine with the session
"GNOME Failsafe"
I've also determined that including 'Option "DRI" "Off"' in my
/etc/X11/Xorg.conf file will resolve the problem and allow me to log in
using the "GNOME" session. Of course, I'd like to have DRI working for
visual effects.
Since I am not sure if ubuntu-bug has included the Xorg.log that
includes the backtrace, I will attach it explicitly.
Please let me know if I can provide any further information to aid in
debugging this problem.
