Does apport still ask you to file a bug report because of this? If so, could you install the newest 2.6.34-rcX kernel, add the kernel parameter drm.debug=0x02 and let it report another bug? The new kernel makes available some debugging information not previously available, and the apport-scripts have been updated to include more useful information.
