Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
With Nouveau enabled and subpixel font hinting enabled, fonts are rendered "glitchily". See the attached screenshot. Switching to "Best Contrast" or "Best Shapes" rendering solves the problem (I'm using the GNOME Appearance Preferences dialog to make the changes.) All levels of subpixel hinting (none, slight, medium and full) exhibit this behavior. Enabling or disabling desktop effects has no effect. I've tested this using up-to-date Lucid and with xorg-edgers, and both are affected. See http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21124 for the upstream issue. ** Affects: nouveau Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid -- Fonts "chipped" with subpixel hinting enabled on NV46 (G72M Quadro NVS 110M, GeForce Go 7300) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
