I booted the laptop, then CTRL-ALT-F1 to get to a vconsole. Then I executed 'stop gdm'. Then I executed:
lsmod | fgrep nvidia The result was: nvidia 10799466 30 However, executing modprobe -r nvidia results in: FATAL: Module nvidia not found.
