Here are my five cents: On an IBM Thinkpad R51 - 2887 with: VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)
and kernel 2.6.32-21 + xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3Ubuntu1 everything works perfectly, including Compiz. No X crahes at all. So, I pinned xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3Ubuntu1 to avoid that the "workaround" xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3Ubuntu3 gets installed and disables DRI. -- MASTER: [i845] GPU lockup (apport-crash) (Should KMS be blacklisted?) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xf86-video-intel. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
