I suspect that you actually weren't using the 3D launcher at all with xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3ubuntu4. That had 3D turned off (confirmed in your logs), and netbook-launcher will automatically launch the 2D netbook-launcher-efl when it detects that there isn't a hardware 3D driver.
