I just want to emphasize that all graphics rendering worked well under 9.10. Also, I believe the subject laptop computer is 32bit architecture: 2.0GHz Mobile AMD Sempron™ Processor 3300+. The AMD specifications on this processor indicate 32 bit. I mention this because some of the comments suggest there may be some confusion or perhaps it's because this problem extends to the 64 bit world as well.
