Hello, I encounter these messages on my netbook as well.
Lucid Netbook Edition with kernel 2.6.33-22, using X-server 1.7.6 here. I currently have some trouble with touchscreen after upgrade from karmic ... maybe this is relevant? To be honest, I don't understand the "detaching slave device" part of the description here ... for me it seems to spam right after bootup. Another effect might be that my mouse cursor after most logons after bootup remains in waiting style. Not at logon screen, but after logging in the first user. To make it difficult, its not after every bootup. Logging off and on again does not solve the issue. Changing user logins solves it most of the times.
