I suspend/resume frequently, and this has only happened a few more times since I reported the bug, but I've noticed something very interesting.
Normally upon resume, my monitor displays garbage in the form of ~15 horizontal light and dark stripes of static. This happens for about a second, presumably while the graphics card reinitializes, then my screensaver is displayed. In every single instance so far of this bug, the screensaver has appeared immediately, with no static first. Anecdotally I would say that in these cases the resume is actually several seconds faster than normal.
