I have stopped using the nvidia drivers and started using the nouveau drivers and updated to Maverick but I'm still seeing this issue. However, now, instead of seeing a "corrupted" screen on killing X, I see no change, ie, X seems to hang. However, the same is still true, I can switch to tty 1 and type startx (I still see no change) and X restarts.
