Btw, I'm using the normal Ubuntu, not Kubuntu. ** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-sis When I boot Lucid on my notebook with SiS graphics card I'm not only getting the divided screen outside of X but also a very ugly Plymouth screen showing only 4 colors (screenshot: http://forum.kubuntu- de.org/index.php?topic=13621). I also get the error message "mountall: could not connect to Plymouth". When I add "sisfb" to /etc/modules and use "video=sisfb" added to the kernel parameters I get a normal non-divided screen and instead the message "could not write bytes: Broken pipe" - and no Plymouth bootscreen at all. On shutdown I get the Plymouth screen in full color. + + ---- + A screenshot is available at http://www.fotos-hochladen.net/lucidsplitscreenfhny563d.jpg but I haven't tested if it also happens in the recovery mode's menu. + ---- -- no/ugly Plymouth bootscreen with SiS graphics card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/557756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-sis in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
