Adam, I found this to be the case as well. Thank you for pointing out
the existence of that file! I deleted it, and upon restarting, my NVIDIA
configuration loaded from xorg.conf. I clean installed Ubuntu 10.04 but
still have my home directory from Mint 7. Oh, and the "~/" in
"~/.config/monitors" just means /home/'user' if anyone was first
confused by that like myself.
