You have been subscribed to a public bug: The lower part of the screen gets scrambled / distorted sometimes. This happens very randomly, but not very often. This disruption just disappears either after a few seconds or always, when the mouse is moved or any key pressed. Everything is immediately back to normal then. The last time it occured was today, just a few seconds after login, while gnome-terminal and firefox open.
This is a Lenovo G550 Laptop. Lucid 10.04 clean installed in April. The problem occures from that time on until now. I tried newer kernel.org kernels and the situation does not change. It seems to be a X.org or Gnome problem. I was able to take a photo with my phone a while back: http://web.student.tuwien.ac.at/~e0525417/screen.jpg part of "lspci": 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) I could not find useful information in /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/ I have Compiz enabled. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: lucid -- Lower part of the screen gets disrupted occasionally https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658705 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
