Yes i have a core i7 (930) and Nvidia GTX 470. I wonder if this is a concurrency issue of some sort, eg. xfsettingsd being loaded too early? This would at least explain why the (slow booting) live cd does not have this bug on my PC. Anyway the solution described in #11 has solved the problem for my part.
