Hello, The above computer has a GeForce GT 230 video card and is x64.
I tried installing ubuntu maverick and lucid, but they showed a distorted
initial screen(the one with only the acessibility symbol and the the keyboard
symbol) and then the screen stayed black permanently. Nothing I did changed
that, and I needed to restart the PC(I tried 6 times). I have tried even the
"alternate install" version, which has a working install in my PC(in text mode
thought), but using the newly installed ubuntu OS gave the same black screen.
I´m currently unable to use ubuntu in any way, hope we can work together to see
what is happening, as being unable to use ubuntu is extremly frustrating, the
problem is not the computer itself nor the ubuntu cd(I tested).
