According to http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-devel/2009-May/000996.html already in a week. So a second PPA does not seem necessary at this time. Anyway, using xorg-edgers as a PPA dependency and auto-xorg-git for packaging might save time and resources for similar initiatives or updates. Robert has already built xserver 1.7 in his xorg-testing PPA [1], and we are talking about dumping this into xorg-edgers soon. The only thing holding us back is that so many intel users are using xorg-edgers for their current issues that we want to keep it a bit "stable". I hope most fixes for intel will end up in x-updates soon, so that we can "go wild" in xorg-edgers again. More uploaders to xorg-edgers are always welcome. After more than 1000 uploads (!) [2] on my own, I am very glad Robert joined and he is doing a terrific job at keeping both Jaunty and Karmic packages up to date. Cheers, Tormod [1] https://edge.launchpad.net/~sarvatt/+archive/xorg-testing [2] According to the PPA stats. Then another 1000 in my own PPA. Luckily, thanks to auto-xorg-git, not much time is spent on each package. Please don't send me any electricity bills. -- Ubuntu-x mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-x
