I've been running an XI2 X server for a couple of weeks, and it seems to already be working very well at this point. It's reasonably stable (I can still get crashes using crazy test programs, but nothing you'll see during normal operation). There's still a few bugs around (such as not being able to use Super as a modifier), but nothing critical. The XI2 interface hasn't fully settled yet (I definitely expect minor changes as Peter is writing his tutorials), but we probably won't see any big changes there. The most likely source of regressions will probably be changes in XI1 behavior, such as device grabs detaching the devices now. This will break certain XI1-aware applications like gimp (according to Peter, I've never tested this myself), so we'll need to make sure that the applications get fixed in time.
