Hi, Here are the results of my testing the solution to my Lucid freezing when launching video playback (also while playing some of the games etc.)
I followed the steps described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Bugs/Lucidi8xxFreezes in the "Legacy Driver" section. One note: After the 'apt-get upgrade' two packages were kept back: libdrm-nouveau1 and xserver-xorg-video-intel while the wiki page mentions that only the first one *should* be kept back. Is it OK? If not, how should I proceed? Upon reboot after applying the changes the system boots up OK. However, when launching video playback (with totem) the system crashes to a black screen. I'm including relevant part of 'syslog'. Let me know how I can be of further help. ~michal PS.
