I've been tracking statistics on # actionable bugs reported against X, per package, for the past few releases, starting in Lucid:
http://www.bryceharrington.org/X/Reports/ubuntu-x-swat/totals-lucid-workqueue.svg Here's Maverick: http://www.bryceharrington.org/X/Reports/ubuntu-x-swat/totals-maverick-workqueue.svg And now Natty: http://www.bryceharrington.org/X/Reports/ubuntu-x-swat/totals-natty-workqueue.svg The black line in the above graph is the totals for the corresponding point during the development cycle in maverick. While it's taken a lot of hard work, I think this bodes well for natty. It remains to be seen if we'll be able to stay atop the queue once the new X stack gets uploaded, but at this point the trend is optimistic.
