Hi all. I was using mesa 13.0.4-1ubuntu1~16.04~0.1 from ppa ubuntu-x-swat with good results; system is a Dell 3620, with monitor connected via HDMI and/or displayport. (There is no VGA port on this system.)
Roughly when the system updated mesa et al to 17.0.2-1ubuntu1~16.04~0.1 X stopped displaying any video on either HDMI or displayport, with any of three monitors. Console video does still show up on both outputs before starting X. Plugging in just one or the other doesn't help. Booting to previous kernel doesn't make any difference. Recovery mode using VESA with DP also doesn't show any video?! Oddly, purging the ppa and rebooting also didn't solve the problem. So I did what anyone would do: I wiped the system and put clean 16.04 on it (which now comes with mesa 12.0.6), which worked fine. Will mesa 17.1 arrive on ubuntu-x-swat for 16.04? I see it's almost there for ubuntu 17.04: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/ubuntu/updates/+packages -- Ubuntu-x mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-x
