Hi, You're having this problem because you're trying to install libgdal1 instead of libgdal1h.
libgdal1 isn't available in UbuntuGIS anymore and the packages in the repository are all built against libgdal1h now. -----Original Message----- From: "Adrien Crivelli" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 31, 2013 11:42pm To: [email protected] Subject: [Ubuntu] PostGIS 2.0 on raring _______________________________________________ UbuntuGIS mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/wikiHey, I try to install Postgis 2.0 on lubuntu raring. My first attempt was to use the ubuntugis stable, but it appears that there is no PostGIS package at all for raring. It seems to be confirmed here: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ppa/+index?field.series_filter=raring Then I switched to ubuntugis unstable, but ran into the infamous conflict with libgdal: $ sudo apt-get install postgis postgresql-9.1-postgis libgdal1 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libgdal1h : Conflicts: libgdal1 (<= 1.10.0-0~) but 1.9.2-2~raring1 is to be installed E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages. So what would you suggest me to do? I noticed Jerome is working hard on some of those issues, but I can't really figure out whether it is supposed to be working now. According to a recent comment<http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/ticket/29#comment:1>, it should be working, but again it looks like something is missing on launchpad. Cheers, Adrien _______________________________________________ UbuntuGIS mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu http://trac.osgeo.org/ubuntugis/wiki
